A start will take place from ‘’Hepokrates’’ monument and the first 22km are flat. The race consists of 3 laps. The first one is 60km long (the longest one) and 2 laps of 27km (1 lap for women and men 60-64 & 65+). The riders must cover this course, in a hilly place with ups and downs with normal grades. The highest point is 346m. The Last 1km includes 300m fast flat point, before riders have their last sprint in the descent towards the finish line.
Concerning the Road Race event, an individual timekeeping chip will be available. The official timekeeping will close 1h.30min after the finish of the first rider. Riders arriving after this time will not be ranked.
The age groups are as following both for women and men: 19-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65+. The starting position will depend on the following parameters:
- Priority will be given to the 2017 participants in the 2017 World Final and their final ranking.
- The earliest enrolments in the race will be taken into consideration for priority.
The organizers will provide one feeding zone area on the top of the Zia village from which the participants will pass 2 or 3 times. The competitors in these zones will have all the necessary energy bars and drinks, fresh and dried fruit. In the finish area, there will be also a zone with food and drinks for the participants.
Qualifying for the Worlds Amateurs Championships
The 25% first per age group both from ITT and ROR are Qualified for the Final World Championships (Varese 30 Aug. -2 Sept. 2018).
The organization committee will award the 3 first winners of each race category in ITT & ROR with medals and jerseys for the winners. Finally, medals will be given to the participants who will have finished within the 25% of their age category. Details concerning the special prizes will be presented in the official website of the race later this year.
Each rider has to deposit 60€ as entry fee for Road Race participation and 45€ for Individual Time Trial. In Addition, we suggest to the participants and their escorts that they choose the race organizer packages in order to achieve cheaper offers. The specific entry fee is due on 6th of April. A 20% plus will be imposed for registration delays.
